I have no doubt that the numbers in this article are correct, but I wonder how many of these missiles are serviceable and how well trained all these Special Forces units really are?:







Military authorities say North Korea has around one-thousand ballistic missiles and more than 200-thousand special operations forces.



The evaluation was made in a Defense Ministry assessment on the North’s military strategies and asymmetric threats.



The report says the North’s military relies on missiles, chemical and biochemical weapons, long-range artillery, special forces, submarines and cyber strategies.



The report assessed that the North has around one-thousand ballistic missiles with a variety of ranges, including Scuds, Nodong missiles and new mid-range missiles.



The report added that the North’s special operations forces are estimated to stand at around 200-thousand. In a 2008 white paper on defense, Seoul estimated that the number stood at around 180-thousand.



According to the report, the North Korean military also has between 25-hundred to five-thousand tons of chemical agents, some 700 pieces of long-range artillery and around 70 submarines. [KBS Global]
