Re-Commission The Battleships!

There are seven extant battleships that would make a wonderful presence and impression of the North Korean coast, and could provide ample counter-fire to the North Korean artillery barrages.  Of course, they would be quite useful elsewhere, too.










The U.S.S. North Carolina, BB-55, is on historical display in Wilmington, North Carolina.





The U.S.S. Massachusetts, BB-59 is currently on historical display at Fall River, Massachusetts.





The U.S.S. Alabama, BB-60, sistership to the Massachsuetts, is currently on historical display in Mobile Harbor, Alabama.




The U.S.S. Iowa, BB-61. is currently in the reserve fleet, in Suisun Bay, California, awaiting donation as a display ship.






The U.S.S. New Jersey, BB-62, is currently on historical display in Camden, New Jersey.




The U.S.S. Missouri, BB-63, is currently on historical display at Pearl Harbor, Oahu. Hawaii.











And lastly, the fourth Iowa-Class battleship, the U.S.S. Wisconsin, BB-64, on display at Norfolk, Virginia.


Anyone counting would say that there are eight battleships extant, nor seven,  the eighth would be the U.S.S. Texas, BB-35, which is currently on display at San Jacinto State Park, Houston, Texas.  It is in great need of work just for preservation at this time, and, being the oldest U.S. Navy battleship in existence, would need, by far, the most work to recommission.  But, here is the Texas:
