From Jihad Watch:
Baltimore jihadist posted on Facebook calling for violence to stop "oppression of Muslims," and saying he "hated" anyone who opposed Allah and Muhammad
And for some odd reason, peaceful Muslims didn't hasten to disabuse him of his misunderstanding of Islam.
More on the Baltimore would-be jihad bomber: "FBI 'Facebook sting' nets US man in car bomb case," from AFP, December 8:
FBI agents arrested a young American Wednesday who believed he was about to set off a car bomb at a US military recruitment office, the Department of Justice said.
Special agents used Facebook to nab the young man, 21, whom they said dreamed of jihad, plotted to carry out a personal strike against US forces -- and then refused repeatedly to change course.
Officials said the bomb he wanted to use, however, was a government-supplied fake.
Antonio Martinez, aka Muhammad Hussain, was arrested early Wednesday "after he attempted to remotely detonate what he believed to be explosives in a vehicle parked in the Armed Forces recruiting station parking lot," US Attorney Rod Rosenstein said.
Martinez, of Baltimore, "was charged by criminal complaint ...with attempting to murder federal officers and employees and attempted use of a weapon of mass destruction against federal property, in connection with a scheme to attack an Armed Forces recruiting station in Catonsville, Maryland," Rosenstein said.
The recruitment post is in a shopping center in Catonsville, Maryland, between Baltimore and the capital, Washington.
"An affidavit filed in support of the criminal complaint alleges that on September 29, 2010, Martinez publicly posted on his Facebook account a statement calling for violence to stop the oppression of Muslims, and that on Oct. 1, 2010, he publicly posted a message stating that he hates any person who opposes Allah and his prophet," a Justice department statement said.
Baltimore television WBAL-TV reported that the suspect was a US national of Nicaraguan descent, and a recent convert to Islam, although officials did not indicate that.
Rosenstein stressed "there was no actual danger because the people Mr. Martinez asked to help carry out his attack actually were working with the FBI."
But for Richard McFeely, a special agent at the FBI's Baltimore Division, Martinez posed a very real threat.
"The danger posed by the defendant in this case was very real," he said. "Martinez was absolutely committed to carrying out an attack which would have cost lives."
Prosecutors said a "confidential source" (CS) of the FBI contacted Martinez through his own page on the social network site Facebook.
"Martinez wrote that he wanted to go to Pakistan or Afghanistan, that it was his dream to be among the ranks of the mujahideen, and that he hoped Allah would open a door for him because all he thinks about is jihad. The CS provided copies of the communications to the FBI," the department said.
When carrying out the "plot," officials in on the sting offered Martinez a chance to back out several times. But each time, they said, he forged ahead....

And this, related, also from Jihad Watch:
Baltimore bomber "thought about nothing but jihad"
And yet he still misunderstood the great Interior Spiritual Struggle, and somehow got the crazy idea that jihad was something that could be accomplished with bombs. He apparently even had the crazy, wholly unjustifiable and un-Islamic notion that "slay the pagans wherever you find them" (Qur'an 9:5) meant "slay the pagans wherever you find them," instead of "establish interfaith harmony and dialogue," which is what every Muslim on the planet knows that it really means.
"Officials: Man Who Spoke Of Jihad Arrested In Plot," by Ben Nuckols The Associated Press, December 8:
A 21-year-old construction worker who had recently converted to Islam and told an FBI informant he thought about nothing but jihad was arrested Wednesday when he tried to detonate what he thought was a bomb at a military recruitment center, authorities said.
Antonio Martinez, also known as Muhammad Hussain, faces charges of attempted murder of federal officers and attempted use of a weapon of mass destruction, according to court documents filed Wednesday.
The bomb he is accused of trying to detonate was fake and had been provided by an undercover FBI agent....
According to court documents, he has been on the FBI's radar screen since October, when he told a confidential FBI source he wanted to attack and kill military personnel....
After meeting with the source, however, Martinez decided to continue with the plot, according to the court documents. On Wednesday he drove an SUV with the dummy bomb to the recruiting center and parked outside the building, authorities said. When he attempted to detonate the device, he was arrested.
During Wednesday's hearing, Martinez told the judge he could not afford an attorney. He said he works in construction, is married and understood the charges against him.
Asked to identify himself, he said he was Muhammad Hussain but confirmed Antonio Martinez is still his legal name...
White House spokesman Nick Shapiro said the arrest underscores the need for vigilance against terrorism and illustrates why the Obama administration is focused on addressing "domestic radicalization."
If previous patterns prevail again, as they probably will, that "addressing" of "domestic radicalization" will most likely involve handsome new cash outlays to mosques in America.

And this, also related, also from Jihad Watch:
Baltimore jihad bomber had been "mouthing off" to friends and "wanted to retaliate" against U.S. military
More on the Baltimore jihad plot perpetrated by Muhammad Hussain, a convert to Islam. How many converts to Islam must engage in violent jihad plots before the mainstream media starts asking imams what they're doing to ensure that no one in their congregations misunderstands Islam in this way? I expect the number is very near infinite.
"Person Arrested In Baltimore Bomb Plot," from KKTV.com, December 8 (thanks to Heart of a Lioness):
Authorities say a man has been arrested in the Baltimore area for plotting to blow up a military recruitment center in Catonsville....
U.S. law enforcement officials told CBS News that the case was "similar to Portland." Mohamed O. Mohamud is accused of trying to detonate a van during a Christmas tree lightening ceremony in Portland, but the FBI infiltrated the plot in its early stages and supplied Mohamud with fake explosives.
The Baltimore man is expected to be charged with attempted use of a weapon of mass destruction and was under surveillance by law enforcement for months.
Sources tell CBS that the man is 21 years old, a United States citizen and a convert to Islam.
The source told CBS that he had been "mouthing off" to friends and "wanted to retaliate against the military for the wars," and when others heard about it, "they wanted nothing to do with it."

And lastly, this, also related, also from Jihad Watch:
Baltimore: Convert to Islam arrested in plot to blow up military recruiting center
The arrested person is named Antonio Martinez, aka Muhammed Hussain -- a convert to the Religion of Peace who, as so many others have before him, misunderstood his new religion.
"Baltimore terror plot arrest: Man accused of plotting to blow up military recruiting center," from ABC7 News, December 8:
[...] The FBI has arrested a Muslim convert who allegedly planned to blow up a military recruiting center in Baltimore County, ABC7 has learned.
According to sources, the suspect was angry at the U.S. military for what he considered a war on Muslims....
ABC News reported the suspect's name is Antonio Martinez, who called himself Muhammed Hussain.
The Associated Press reported that the suspect was given a phony bomb and was arrested after trying to detonate it.
Sources said the man was caught in an FBI sting operation similar to one in Portland, Oregon, which led to the arrest of 19-year-old Mohamed Osman Mohamud, a Somali-born U.S. citizen. Mohamud is accused of plotting to drive a truck bomb into the city's Christmas tree-lighting ceremony....
