Critics Rip Obama’s Response To Libya

President Barack Obama has fielded heavy criticism in recent days after the United States joined an international military campaign against Libyan dictator Moammar Gadhafi.
Many politicians, including members of the President's own party, are perplexed by several aspects of the recent bombings. Some critics have blasted Obama for his slow response to the human rights violations committed by Gadhafi, while others have questioned the need for U.S. military involvement in Libya while the military is still fighting wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
In addition, Obama recently embarked on a five-day economic tour of Latin America, which some conservatives are calling a "Rio vacation," according to the Boston Herald. The conflict in Libya adds to the laundry list of crises on the President's plate, including skyrocketing gas prices, uncertainty about nuclear safety following the earthquake in Japan and an unresolved budget on Capitol Hill.
"Leading up to the military action, I think people are really feeling a lack of confidence in his leadership," Todd Domke, a Republican media strategist, told the media outlet. "It’s part of a pattern where it doesn’t seem he’s on top of the right things and he’s not acting as a commander-in-chief."
The latest Harris Poll indicates that the President's popularity among voters is waning, as well. According to the survey, which was conducted between March 7 and 14, only 39 percent of respondents gave Obama a positive job rating, which is down from 42 percent in February and 44 percent in January.
