We have the capability to monitor every travel route we might use, and would, if we used it, know about any IEDs, and could even destroy IEDs as they are being installed and their installers as well. We could also interdict the routes used by the Iranians to deliver them to the Afghanis. Hundreds of men have been killed or maimed unnecessarily. We could stop it all, and we don't. We are fighting to lose.

6/27/2011 - WASHINGTON (AFNS) -- A Department of Defense official announced June 27 the death of an Airman who was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.
Tech. Sgt. Daniel L. Douville, 33, of Harvey, La., died June 26 as a result of injuries suffered from an improvised explosive device on the border of the Nad 'Ali district of Helmand province, Afghanistan. He was assigned to the 96th Civil Engineer Squadron at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla.
